On October 24th we took a field trip to the family run Lawrence Orchard and farm in Marion, Ohio! As we are committed to having as many local ingredients as possible our goal was to pick enough apples to use for our holiday pies. Lawrence Orchard was established in 1921 and they use sustainable growing practices which we were really excited about! It was raining before we arrived to the farm so it was a little muddy and the trees were covered in water droplets.
We had a great time and picked more than enough apples for the bakery and for ourselves to take home. There was also a sweet pony and goat that we made friends with.
