The weekend is here again, yay!!!! We made some delicious goodies too!

This is My Suitcase CD Listening/Dance Party + Weekend Specials!

What are your plans saturday night? Our friends from this is my suitcase will be having their official cd listening/dance party at the bakery. Starting at 9:00 p.m. hear their new record followed by a solo ukulele set by joe of this is my suitcase at 10:00 p.m. After joe’s set the dance party begins. Stop by and get your dance on:)

pattycake losing an all-star:(

i have some sad news to announce…..pattycake will be losing one of our amazing all-stars, kate. kate our supervisor and training manager extraordinaire only has one more week with us before she moves on to the next chapter in her life. she has been with us for over a year and a half and has played such a key part in the pattycake team and our growth. she was the engine behind the development of our new 100% compostable packaging and was also the one who initiated us to have our website redesigned among countless other projects. good luck lady, we will miss you!

this weekend at pattycake!

This weekend we will have two cakes by the slice: The very popular chocolate cake with peanut butter mousse and the delicious vanilla cake with strawberry mousse.

Are you sugar or gluten free or know someone who is? Then we have several options this weekend for you. There will be sugar free agave sweetened chocolate cupcakes with vanilla icing. There will also be gluten-free vanilla cupcakes with raspberry mousse. We will have our truly amazing live “cheese”cake which is gluten and sugar free and amazingly delicious topped with organic raspberries and organic blackberries. yum!!!

It is going to be another hot one this weekend so why not stop in for some vanilla soft serve ice cream in a biodegradable cup or organic cone. we also have gluten free cones available too! people to watch 2009: jennie scheinbach

Pattycake’s very own jennie scheinbach has been selected to the 2009 Columbus Alive’s People to Watch list!!! Alive received 230 nominations this year and jennie was one of the nine finalist selected, isn’t that awesome?!?! We are so proud of you lady! This was probably the best write up the bakery has ever had. journalist melissa starker did such an amazing job capturing what jennie and the bakery really are all about, thanks melissa!

Joe C. rocks it in a pattycake shirt on the main stage at Comfest!

pattycake ♥'s This is My Suitcase ♥'s pattycake, at Comfest!

One of pattycake’s favorite bands, This is My Suitcase, had the privilege of playing on the main stage at Comfest on Friday night and we (jennie, Seth, + kids) had the privilege to see them!  If you haven’t checked them out live, you should – they are truly amazing!!  

Long ago when he first professed his love for pattycake, Joe C. promised that if we gave him a pattycake shirt he’d never take it off.  Though he hasn’t made totally good on that promise, he made up for it by rockin’ said shirt at Suitcase’s killer performance at Comfest Friday night.  Thanks Joe, and the rest of the Suitcase folks, for all the love and support you’ve shown us, and for being just generally cool.  Ya’ll rock!

And are you going to be at Comfest today?  If so, be sure to check out our booth near the Swan street entrance, just south of the Jazz stage.  It’s our first year participating in this way, and so far it has been an amazing (and exhausting) few days.  Thanks, Columbus community, for making our first Comfest such a success!  We’re so happy to be a part of all the awesomeness that is Columbus

pecha kucha vol. 9 this thursday!

Thanks to everyone who came out to agora and eco chic craftacular last weekend! It was awesome to meet you all and we really appreciate all of your support.

This Thursday we will be taking the goodies on the road again….this time to Pecha Kucha Night vol. 9. This is going to be a really awesome event! If you have never attended a pecha kucha before you should definitely stop by and catch this exciting evening of presentations. The fun starts at 7:30 at the Gateway Theater, 1550 N. High Street. Come by and enjoy some delicious treats, a drink, and meet some really amazing people!

agora, eco chic craftacular, & banana whoopie pies!!!

This weekend we will be vending at Agora 6 on Saturday and Eco Chic Craftacular on Sunday. We have some very special treats for these events including a new item to debut at agora. 

Agora 6 will take place at Junctionview Studios, 889 Williams Ave. in Grandview from noon to 2 a.m. on Saturday. There will be 2 outdoor stages and one indoor stage with live music all day, craft and food venders, over fifty open art studios, performance art including fire spinning, and a late night dance party. The event is free and will be the biggest and best agora yet! 

We will be vending at Eco Chic Craftacular on Sunday from noon to 5 p.m at the Whetstone Community Center, 3923 North High Street in North Clintonville. The event will be made up of venders in esty team columbus so you are sure to find a lot of locally handmade crafts and other goodies! 

Back at the bakery:

We only bake these a few times a year and this weekend they are back….banana whoopie pies! They never last long so stop by the bakery or one of our weekend events and get them while they last. The toasted coconut cake will be our cake by the slice this weekend. As always on Saturday we will be baking the best sticky buns in town all day. Come in and get one hot out of the oven.

bike ride from the bakery to kickstart

 

tonight was the paradise garage and kickstart bike to work week block party in the short north. a group of us met at pattycake and then made the trek down to kickstart’s parking lot where there was music, fun bike games, prizes, movies, and rad dog! it was a blast. thanks to paradise garage, kickstart, and everyone on the b2ww committee.

keeping the goodies safe!

As you all know or maybe you don’t ohio weather is super unpredictable and it rains a lot here. Since we deliver the majority of our wholesale orders by bike keeping them dry in the rain/snow has been a challenge for us. But not anymore! Behold our new bike cart tarp made by the amazing folks at Seagull Bags in Clintonville. 

Months ago our first bike delivery rider, teddy reese, set this project into motion. After teddy moved out of state the project was taken over by tawd bell and our current bike delivery peson, dan wilburn. Thanks guys!!! We are so glad to finally have it and our precious treats protected.
