The weekend is upon us again and we are going to be making some delicious treats for you including a brand new cake by the slice, The Mounds Cake!

Remember eating Mounds candy bars as a kid? This weekend we are introducing The Mounds Cake! A coconut cake with a layer of fluffy coconut icing in the center and covered in rich chocolate buttercream icing, yum! Stop in for a slice!

last night was por vida II at junctionview studios and we are so happy to have been a part of this amazing event again this year. thank you kat for organizing this and congratulations on another successful celebration. we had so much fun and were in ahh of all the amazing costumes!!!! here are a few pictures from the event.

It is halloween weekend, yay!!! We have some super cute and spooky treats for you to take to all the awesome costume parties you are attending this weekend…..psssss por vida!

We have some very tasty ghost and jack o lantern cut out cookies that are very very festive and cute!

We are really excited to be part of this 5th annual Craftin Outlaws this Saturday. This is an alternative craftin fair that will take place at the lodge bar from 11 am to 6 pm. There will be over 60 vendors including us!!! Come and check out all the amazing handmade items and get a head start on your holiday gift buying.

This weekend at the bakery we are baking up the goodies for you. Our cakes by the slice are the chocolate cake with peanut butter mousse and our cake decorator diana’s favorite the pistachio rosewater cake. Our deliciously smooth raw cheesecake is being topped with organic strawberries. We will also have gluten free chocolate cupcakes with coconut frosting. Our super cute ghost cut out cookies are back!!! They are the perfect treat to bring to upcoming halloween parties, call in and special order a dozen today.

After a month-long hiatus, this Saturday October 10th is the Rad Dog Sticky (bun) Challenge – eat any of Tawd’s mouth-watering sandwiches and a decadently delicious pattycake sticky bun and Kristina will take your picture and put it on our wall of Accomplished Eaters!

Also Saturday, i have the privelege of judging another installment of Cupcake Camp Columbus – it was a (sugar) blast at Surly Girl in May, and this follow-up should prove to be even more fun, or at least more spacious, at the North Market.  Check out the link for more details on this sweet event!

Oh, do we have some yummies for you this weekend!  Of course, there will be, at opposite ends of the good-for-you spectrum, trays and trays of gooey sticky buns and our no-sugar-added raw “cheese”cake (organic raspberry mango!).   For cakes by the slice, we will be offering amaretto rasperry and the oh-so-loved ho-ho cake, back this weekend by popular demand.

We also have many flavors of party-size cupcakes available: chocolate with chocolate buttercream, chocolate with vanilla buttercream, lemon raspberry, coconut-lime, and gluten-free chocolate and carrot. Pick some up for your weekend festivites and your friends will love you even more than they already do!

Are you as excited for halloween as we are?  Do you know what you are going to be yet (do tell!)?  While we at the bakery have been planning and scheming fabulous disguises to make and wear, we have also been baking ghost cut-out cookies to get ready for our favorite holiday of the year.

Today’s batch was decorated by Rachel and i think they are especially cute – check out the ghost-bird in the front!

This Saturday, is Market to Market: A Trail of Two Markets, a biking adventure to kick off local foods week! It starts at The Hills Market with breakfast and from there participates will take the bike path with cool demos and treats along the way to the north market where you will receive a scoop of jeni’s ice cream.
